Event: Reconciling anthropogenic land-use emissions
Location: Science for Climate Action Pavilion, Blue Zone COP 29
Description: There are current inconsistencies in land-use CO₂ emissions between global models—used to determine net-zero pathways in the IPCC Assessment Reports—and national GHG inventories used to assess compliance with the Paris Agreement. These inconsistencies, equivalent to approximately 20% of global CO₂ emissions, have significant implications for assessing collective efforts under the Paris Agreement. This side event will explore perspectives and potential solutions from the various expert communities involved
